EHS Practice Director – Flexible Location

Job Description

ALL4 LLC (ALL4) is seeking a Practice Director to develop and organize water quality, waste management, chemical reporting and management, and health and safety services (known as Environmental, Health and Safety or EHS) within ALL4 consistent with the goals and objectives of the overall corporate entity. This is a unique opportunity to lead an established practice that is among the largest and fastest growing areas at ALL4 through a period of continued growth. The EHS Practice Director’s responsibility is to identify and carry out actions that drive technical excellence, growth, and visibility for these ALL4 EHS services. To accomplish those overall objectives the EHS Practice Director collaborates with and influences ALL4’s geographic business units, existing client managers, technical experts, and practitioners of EHS services. The EHS Practice Director will join a team of environmental professionals that are well-versed in complex permitting, compliance, and engineering projects, and who are committed to furthering our vision as a globally-recognized consulting company shaping environmental responsibility and creating distinction for employees, clients, and partners.

Responsibilities                                     

  • Leadership: Operates in a manner consistent with ALL4’s Core Values and Foundational Leadership
  • Technical Expertise and Direction: Maintains a technical understanding of all EHS services to provide technical leadership in each area and can gain an understanding of external market influences on those services.
  • Strategic Vision: Establishes key areas of priority for ALL4 to focus on in both the near term and long‐term future to drive Identifies new services that will position ALL4 for future growth and makes recommendations to the Chief Technical Officer on future technical positioning and growth strategies. Establishes teams to capitalize on new business drivers and guides those teams to develop goals/metrics around technical expertise and revenue.
  • ALL4 Service Volume and External Markets: Gains an understanding of ALL4 service volume in each service area and develops annual metrics for service area revenues.
  • Project Delivery: Ensures that ALL4 project teams have the guidance, templates, and tools available to them to successfully and efficiently implement EHS services.
  • Quality: Implements quality assurance processes/structures according to ALL4 standards.
  • Technical Depth and Capacity: Evaluates, maintains, communicates, and improves ALL4’s technical depth and staffing capacity within existing service areas.
  • Technical Onboarding: Makes recommendations for onboarding approaches from a Practice perspective to shape how new staff members are introduced to the technical aspects of ALL4’s EHS work.
  • Technical Career Development: Evolves ALL4’s overall career position matrix such that technical learning and technical visibility are maximized and incentivized.
  • Business Development: Oversees, generates, and participates in key proposal opportunities. Serves as an advocate for the ALL4 sales and information gathering process on all project opportunities within the covered Maintains an annual personal business development goal.
  • Marketing: Coordinates articles, webinars, and trainings that educate, communicate, and market EHS expertise for regulations and Identifies conferences and stakeholder events where staff within the EHS Practice can present and demonstrate expertise.
  • External Market Drivers: Identifies technical, regulatory, and policy drivers that ALL4 should explore to drive revenue.
  • Technical Visibility: Identifies strategic technical visibility opportunities for ALL4 (i.e., stakeholder groups, external training, client visibility strategies, ). Participates in ALL4’s Knowledge Area Leader meetings and establishes Knowledge Area Leaders who can cover the appropriate EHS services.
  • Recruiting: Makes recommendations to ALL4’s recruiting team on technical skill sets and candidates to target.

Qualifications 

  • Collective experiences equivalent to at least 10 years of environmental consulting or industry experience.
  • Degree in a related field of study, i.e., engineering, science, or health and safety.
  • Commitment to excellence and ALL4’s core values; openness to change, personal growth, and coaching.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow proactively; demonstrated project management ability.
  • Ability to develop, lead, and enroll strong teams with a wide range of personality types and technical abilities.
  • Effective problem resolution combined with the ability to delegate effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including strong document production skills (proficiency in Word and Excel) and technical writing ability.
  • Acute attention to detail.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is $150,000-$225,000 at the time of posting. Factors taken into consideration when determining compensation include, but are not limited to education, experience, skill set, location, and business or organizational needs. In addition, this role will be eligible for bonus pay. ALL4 offers a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and other benefits to eligible employees. Based on the factors described herein an applicant may be qualified for an alternate role outside of EHS Practice Director. In this case, ALL4 would share the suggested position and associated salary range with the applicant.
