Power Sector Update 2025: Siting, Permitting, and the Shifting Regulatory Landscape
WHAT’S THE WEBINAR ABOUT?
The power sector in the United States is poised to change significantly in the next 25 years. The rate of power generation has remained relatively flat over the past 20 years, but the days of static power demand growth are over, with the anticipated generated capacity needs expected to nearly double by 2050 driven by data center expansions and the explosion of AI. To accommodate this massive growth, the United States will need to rapidly deploy new power generation facilities of all types: natural gas-fired plants, solar, wind, hydro, and potentially nuclear, along with supporting improvements in transmission lines and energy storage. This webinar will discuss the regulatory environment under the new administration, siting and permitting challenges, and other related topics.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Environmental professionals with air quality permitting, siting, and advocacy responsibilities, especially those focused on electricity generating facilities.
WHY ATTEND?
The need for additional capacity is driving development of new power projects at a breakneck pace. It is critical to understand the challenges that can hinder and slow down the siting and permitting process to keep your projects on schedule.
